These beautifully detailed socks are knitted top-down and were inspired by Avery Erb’s childhood memories: blooming goldenrods, hay bales and Wisconsin prairies that turn yellow at the end of summer. Knitted in a conscious blend of washable Merino wool, alpaca and recycled nylon, our Amble yarn is soft yet durable with an anti-shrinkage Easy-wash treatment. A perfect project for sock lovers.
Starting from the cuff a 1 x 1 half-twisted ribbing precedes a playful and straightforward grass stitch and eyelet pattern. The heel flap is knitted in slipped-stitch ribbing and the 1 x 1 half-twisted ribbing is worked again for the toe. The legs can be knitted to a standard crew length or shortened to ankle length by varying the number of pattern repeats.
